• Benedictine scored the first two points of the season on an attack error and a
Joe Lock ace to open a 2-0 lead in the first set
• With the score even at 9-9,
Nick Malak opened a run of three straight points with a kill and Benedictine did not trail again in the first, closing out the set with four straight points
• The second set saw Benedictine score six straight early to build a 7-1 lead and never look back
• Kean, who was receiving votes in the preseason AVCA poll, puled within 21-18 before Benedictine finished out the second
• Jacob Srande kicked off the third with a kill and Benedictine built a 6-0 lead to establish control and ease to the win
