THE DETAILS
• Stephen Sewruk received the call on the mound in the third game
• UW-Stevens Point recorded a leadoff double to begin the game and after a wild pitch took a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly
• Benedictine was able to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the fourth
• Blake Soria doubled with the first of three consecutive hits and crossed the plate when
Damen Castillo singled to center
• Behind a leadoff double in the fifth, UW-Stevens Point responded with a single run to take the lead
• Benedictine answered in the bottom of the inning when
Kyle Mitter singled, moved to second on an error and stole third after
Jack Feeley walked
• Mitter scored the tying run from third on a throwing error as Feeley swiped second
• The winning run came around unearned in the top of the eighth
• Benedictine dropped a pair of one-run contests during the series
• The pitching staff recorded 33 total strikeouts over the three games
STAT LEADERS
• Sewruk posted a quality start in his first outing of the season, working six innings and allowed two runs in a no-decision while fanning six
• Drake Berman worked two innings and allowed an unearned run to take the loss, striking out two
• Justin Sosa made his season debut with a scoreless ninth as the pitching staff totaled 10 punchouts
• Benedictine totaled eight hits while allowing only five
• Mitter tallied two hits and also coaxed a walk while
Kamrin Hoffmann notched a hit with two walks

Benedictine (0-3) is slated to welcome Carleton College for a doubleheader on Saturday. The games will be played at DuPage Medical Group Field, a turf field in Joliet that serves as the home of the Joliet Slammers.
