ROCKFORD, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team nabbed a fifth straight win on the road, blanking Rockford.

THE DETAILS
• Mike Bassier hit the crossbar in the 18th minute as Benedictine created early chances
• A foul set up a free kick from just outside the box in the 22nd minute that Michal Szaflarski buried for the first goal
• Benedictine had repeated opportunities but the Rockford defense held strong
• The second goal came on an own goal when a corner kick was headed into the goal in the final 30 seconds of the first half
• Neither team was able to score in the second half
