LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team stormed past Lakeland to win a third consecutive conference contest.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine created a chance in the opening minute but Habtamu Kruiswyk was denied
• Benedictine kept creating chances but it was Lakeland who struck first
• The visitors directed home a through ball from the top of the box in the 14th minute
• Benedictine needed just over a minute to even the score
• David Szaflarski picked up a failed clearance at the top of the box and had no one around while cranking a shot into the goal
• Opportunities continued for Benedictine before grabbing the lead in the 40th minute
• Michal Szaflarski headed home a corner from Fernando Alvarez from the far post
• Armando Gallegos headed home a cross into the box from Tony Mavrogiannis less than a minute later to make the score 3-1
• Manav Soorma added to the first half burst in the final minute heading home a free kick from Mavrogiannis
• Benedictine dominated possession in the second half and added the fifth goal in the 63rd minute
• Alex Pillath directed home a free kick from Tomasz Kulak and Fernando Alvarez
