LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team went the distance in front of a raucous crowd but saw their season end with a five-set loss in the conference tournament.

• Benedictine controlled the first set as
Caroline O'Connor opened a string of five straight points to help open a 12-6 lead
• Benedictine led 16-8 and started to trade points but closed out the set on a kill from O'Connor
• The second set was much like the remainder of the match with lots of back-and-forth
• Behind two aces from
Courtney Levy and another from
Alyssa Mojica, Benedictine led 8-6 before Illinois Tech embarked on a run of six straight to open a 13-9 edge
• Brooke Huizenga put down a kill to help Benedictine score five in a row and lead 15-14 on consecutive blocks from O'Connor and
Yngride JeanPhillipe
• Benedictine led 18-15 after a kill from
Kaitlyn Estopare and held a 23-19 edge before Illinois Tech closed out the set with six straight
• A pair of long runs in the third helped the visitors grab a 2-1 advantage
• Madelyn Sullivan and JeanPhillipe logged kills in the fourth as Benedictine led 9-6
• The block and serve helped Benedictine pull away to the win
• Neither team could gain the upper hand in the fifth
• Huizenga and Estopare put down kills to put Benedictine ahead 11-10 but Illinois Tech scored the final five to grab the win and advance
