LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team has announced an earlier start to the season with three games set to take place on March 6-7 in Sauget, Ill. against top opponents at GCS Credit Union Ballpark, home of the Frontier League's Gateway Grizzlies. The weekend will be hosted by Webster University, who plays their home games in Sauget.

Benedictine will play a single game on March 6 against Wartburg College at 1:30 p.m. in the season opener. Wartburg was 9-1 last season when the year came to a close due to the pandemic. The following day, March 7, Benedictine will play a doubleheader against the hosts, Webster University, at 12:00 p.m. Webster is ranked 10th in the D3baseball.com Top-25 and picked up two first-place votes. Most of the Webster roster still features players who were part of a 37-13 team that reached the NCAA Division III World Series in 2019. Webster was 8-5 last year before the pandemic.

All three games will have live video and live stats from the ballpark.
