ROCK ISLAND, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team never led in a non-conference loss at Augustana.

THE DETAILS
• The teams spent much of the first half trading goals
• Scott Ransom scored the first Benedictine goal with 2:45 left in a low-scoring first quarter to tie the score at 1-1
• The speed picked up in the second quarter with both teams notching five goals
• Augustana opened a 6-4 lead before consecutive goals in the final minute from Thomas Tillett and Colin Domek evened the game at halftime 6-6
• The hosts came out of the half by scoring the first three goals and did not look back
• Joe Spahn scored on a pass from Domek with 6:44 left to draw Benedictine within 11-9, but Augustana scored the next four goals to account for the final

STAT LEADERS
• The up-tempo contest saw both teams accumulate more than 40 shots with Benedictine totaling 41
• Benedictine won 14 faceoffs and scored three man-up goals
• Evan Kilbane stopped 10 shots in goal
• Five players scored a goal for Benedictine led by three from Ransom, who added an assist
• Domek led the team with 10 shots and logged two goals and a pair of assists
• Tillett scored twice
• Mateo Salceda, who became the program's all-time leader in groundballs in the season opener, won 12 faceoffs and picked up five groundballs
