LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University softball team won a second consecutive conference series by recording a sweep of Rockford at home.

GAME ONE
• Benedictine jumped in front right out of the gates when
Taylor Skraba hit a homerun to deep center to open the game
• Benedictine would tack on three more runs in the inning when
Alyssa Gill singled home a run,
Ashley Fisher scored on a wild pitch and
Colleen Schmit lifted a sacrifice fly
• Both teams scored in the second inning
• Rockford came back to tie the game with three runs in the third and one in the fourth
• Benedictine responded with seven in the fourth inning to open a 12-5 lead
• Megan Fast, Gill and Schmit all notched RBI singles before
Sara Allison and
Faith Chada each singled home a pair
• The game ended in the bottom of the fifth on a Gill double
GAME ONE LEADERS
• Benedictine finished with 16 hits in the opener
• Six players logged more than one hit led by three each from Skraba and Gill
• Gill drove home three runs
• Fisher improved to 6-1 on the year by working two scoreless innings
GAME TWO
• Benedictine did not trail in the doubleheader, opening a 2-0 lead in the second contest with a pair of runs in the second
• Allison dropped down a sacrifice bunt to score the first run when Schmit crossed the plate
• Neena Franklin singled home
Asia Robinette with the second run
• Rockford scored an unearned run in the fourth and had the tying run called out for leaving third early
• Benedictine scored their final four runs in the fifth
• Fisher notched an RBI triple and came across when Schmit doubled
• Allison tallied a two-run single and Franklin put down a bunt single to account for the final run
GAME TWO LEADERS
• Fast earned the win in the circle with a complete game, allowing just an unearned run
• Benedictine tallied 11 hits in the second game including four for extra bases
• Fisher, Franklin and Schmit all posted two hits
• Allison knocked in three runs
