Sweep Extends Baseball's Win Streak to 15

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team swept visiting Concordia Chicago to run their win streak to 15 games and surpass 20 victories on the year.

THE DETAILS

Benedictine scored a pair of two-out runs in the top of the first in the opener and did not trail
- Damen Castillo doubled and scored on an RBI single from Kevin Bushnell, who would later come around on a balk
- Two more two-out runs scored in the second on a two-run double from Castillo
- Benedictine added three in the fourth and one in the sixth to account for the final
- Concordia Chicago scored a run in the first inning of the second contest and held the lead until a sacrifice fly from Jack Feeley in the third
- The game remained even until the eighth when Benedictine broke through for five runs
- Cameron Falk singled with the bases loaded to drive home a run, pinch-hitter Nic Presutti doubled home two and Ryan Doubek dropped down a squeeze to account for the runs

STAT LEADERS

Alexander Schram struck out six in seven innings to earn the win in the opener
- Castillo stayed red hit with three hits and three RBIs
- Bushnell and Feeley logged two hits each
- Justin Sosa allowed just one run while striking out five in six innings of work in the second contest
- Ty Liaromatis collected the win with two scoreless innings
- Jack Surin finished with three hits and Falk added two

UP NEXT
Benedictine (21-6, 11-0 NACC) now holds a two-game lead over Aurora in the South and will try and complete a four-game sweep of Concordia Chicago with a single game on the road Monday afternoon.
