LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team used a strong second half to win a third conference contest this year.

THE DETAILS
• Neither team was able to generate much offense in the first half
• Fernando Alvarez hit a post in the 26th minute
• Omar Barragan missed high early in the second
• Benedictine countered and grabbed a 1-0 lead when
Raj Bains scooped up a loose ball and fired it into the upper portion of the net
• The lead reached 2-0 in the 69th minute when
Hayden Van Son converted on his ninth goal of the year by making good on a penalty kick
• The defense held strong the rest of the way to record the shutout

• Benedictine held an 11-6 edge in shots with five on goals
• Alvarez and Barragan both notched three attempts
• Chris Rubio made three saves in goal to complete the blank sheet
• The shutout marked the first of the year for Benedictine
