Andrew Stokes hit a pair of free throws with .3 seconds remaining as the Benedictine University men's basketball team escaped Wisconsin Lutheran at home on Tuesday 84-83, bouncing back after losing in a similar manner at Marian on Saturday. The wild game featured nine ties and 12 lead changes. Wisconsin Lutheran had taken the lead at 83-82 by sinking two free throws with 1.8 remaining. After trailing for most of the first half Benedictine shot 54 percent in the second half and led for a majority of the final 20, holding a lead as large as eight points. Wisconsin Lutheran led by 10 in the first half. Four players finished in double figures led by 21 from
Marvin Agwomoh, who also reeled in nine boards.
Trevor Montiel added 18 with eight rebounds. Stokes notched 15 in a seventh straight game with double figures while
Jeff Kratz bounced back to finish with 12, all on three-pointers. Benedictine finished with a 42-25 edge on the glass.
