LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's volleyball team finally had the chance to play at home, falling in a rematch of the 2021 NCAA Championship to ninth-ranked Carthage.

THE DETAILS
- Carthage opened a 5-2 lead in the opening set
- A Martin Radomski kill and a Logan Fuglestad ace were part of a run that tied the score
- Carthage tallied three in a row to open a 14-9 lead and grabbed the first set
- The second set was back-and-forth
- Benedictine took the lead for the first time at 6-5 on a run of three straight points with kills from Fuglestad, Nathan Klimisch and Sanchit Khaitan
- Klimisch put Benedictine up 16-15 with a kill before Carthage uncorked four straight
- Chase Olson fended off the first set point before Carthage finished off the second
- Benedictine led for the start of the third but a string of four in a row broke open a close set and Carthage was able to grab the decision
- Carthage was the fifth of the six opponents this season to be ranked or receiving votes
