MILWAUKEE, WI - Kevin Bushnell became the first player from the Benedictine University baseball team honored by the NACC this year as the conference's Position Player of the Week.

Bushnell hit .500 in the first three games of Benedictine's trip to Florida, tallying seven hits in 14 trips with a homer and eight RBIs. The All-American logged multiple hits in each contest. Bushnell owns 11 RBIs this season in seven games. The second year member of the team homered and drove home five in a win over William Paterson and tacked on three hits against Elhurst. Last season, Bushnell drove home 57 runs.

Benedictine continues the spring trip in Florida on Wednesday morning against UW-Eau Claire.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University's Kevin Bushnell (Tinley Park, Ill.) and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Fabio Kamitani (Naviraí, Brazil) have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 14-20, 2022. The honorees were selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

NACC Pitcher of the Week ~ Fabio Kamitani, Wisconsin Lutheran College
Kamitani, a junior right-hander, tossed the first complete game of his career in a 3-0 win over Defiance on March 15. He scattered three hits while striking out five and walking none over seven scoreless innings on the mound.

NACC Position Player of the Week ~ Kevin Bushnell, Benedictine University
Bushnell, a senior infielder, had three multiple-hit games as Benedictine opened its spring trip to Florida. He hit .500 (7-of-14) with a double, a home run, and eight RBIs as the Eagles scored 28 runs. Bushnell drove in five in a 15-3 win over William Paterson and had three hits in an 11-0 win over Elmhurst.
