GAME ONE DETAILS
• A day after throwing both games against another nationally ranked team and a no-hitter in the second contest, MSOE again put their ace in the circle
• Megan Fast ensured there would not be another no-hitter by tallying a one-out single in the first
• The hit was one of only three that Benedictine managed in the contest
• MSOE scored a run on a homer in the fourth and then added one in the sixth and two in the seventh to gain the shutout
GAME ONE LEADERS
• Alexandra Loizon suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs in six innings with two walks and three strikeouts
• Ashley Fisher logged an inning of relief
• Three different players posted hits for Benedictine
GAME TWO DETAILS
• The second contest turned in to a wild affair
• MSOE scored a run in the top of the third on consecutive doubles
• Facing a reliever for the first time in either game in the bottom of the inning, Benedictine scored twice to take the lead
• Taylor Skraba drove home a run with a fielder's choice and scored on a wild pitch to take the lead
• The nationally ranked visitors responded with four runs in the fourth to open a 5-2 edge before Benedictine put six on the board in the bottom of the inning
• Fast tallied a two-run single to open the scoring before
Alyssa Gill singled home the tying run
• Going back to the starting pitcher,
Colleen Schmit greeted her with a go-ahead three-run homer
• MSOE scored twice in the fifth with two outs to pull within 8-7 and then received a two-out two-run go ahead single in the sixth
• Schmit blasted her second homer of the game in the sixth to tie the score
• Fisher singled with one out in the bottom of the seventh, stole second and scored the winning run when Gill singled with two outs to start the celebration
GAME TWO LEADERS
• Schmit homered twice and drove home four
• Gill finished with three hits
• Fast started in the circle and threw four innings
• Leah Navarro earned the win by tossing the final three frames
