RIVER FOREST, IL - The Benedictine University men's volleyball team put forth a valiant effort but suffered a four-set loss to #2 Dominican in the conference championship.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine opened the first set strong, leading 5-3 following a Martin Radomski ace
• The hosts tallied four straight to open a 9-7 lead and after a Chase Olson kill put Benedictine in front 15-14, tallied five straight to gain enough distance to win
• The second was very similar to the first
• Benedictine led 5-3 early and tied the contest at 19 on a block from Tim Folliard before Dominican notched the next four to have enough to take a 2-0 lead
• Backs against the wall, Benedictine seized control in the third when Radomski put down a kill to open a stretch of five straight as Benedictine opened an 18-13 lead
• Dominican came all the way back to get within a point before two straight kills from Olson sent the match to a fourth
• Benedictine rode momentum from the third early in the fourth, opening a lead of 8-5 on a kill from Cooper Armstrong
• Benedictine led 11-10 before six straight points put Dominican in control and another six-point run late sent the hosts to the win
