SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team finished off the regular season by securing a bye in the conference tournament after sweeping Dominican.

GAME ONE DETAILS
- Ryan Doubek opened the game with a walk and moved to third on a one-out double from
Damen Castillo
- Kevin Bushnell knocked home the first run by reaching on an error
- Justin Sosa allowed a leadoff triple in the bottom of the inning but escaped unscathed
- Chase Hanselman crossed the plate in the second inning on an attempted double steal
- Benedictine plated three more runs in the fifth to lead 5-0
- Bushnell doubled home two and
Peter Turelli notched an RBI single
- After Dominican scored in the fourth, Benedictine plated four more in the fifth to account for the final
- Castillo homered to finish off the frame
GAME ONE LEADERS
- Sosa threw five innings and earned his sixth win of the year
- Andrew Kurcz threw the final four to log his second save
- Benedictine banged out 15 hits in the contest including six for extra bases
- Castillo finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and a homer
- Doubek and
Cole Wilson posted two apiece as the top three in the order accounted for eight hits
- Turelli and
Alex Cameron notched two as well while Bushnell plated three
GAME TWO DETAILS
- Needing a win to keep chances of a conference tournament bid alive, Dominican scored twice in the second
- Benedictine promptly tied the game in the top of the third on a two-run single from Castillo
- A solo homer from Bushnell in the fourth put Benedictine ahead and
Cole McManus added an RBI single
- Dominican scored a single run in the bottom of the inning to draw within 4-3 but Benedictine added single runs in the fifth and sixth
- Doubek singled home a run and
Cameron Falk lifted a sacrifice fly
GAME TWO DETAILS
- John Creviston started and threw three innings
- Austin Pizer earned the win by working 4.1 innings, striking out five
- Andrew Tenison recorded the final five outs, three via strikeout, for his fourth save
- Castillo, Bushnell and Doubek all collected a pair of hits as Benedictine notched nine
- All nine members of the lineup reached base at least once
