The Benedictine University women's basketball team led for most of the game but suffered a 69-64 defeat at the hands of defending conference champions St. Norbert on the road in the NACC opener.

Autumn Rucker at the end of the first quarter put Benedictine ahead 19-18 following a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes. Benedictine shot 61 percent and scored 24 points to lead at the half by a 43-36 count. The lead reached 13 early in the second half but St. Norbert used a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to move ahead and Benedictine did not score for the final 3:47 of the contest.
Benedictine shot 40.6 percent in the contest.
Ryann Ogarek led the team with 24 points, 17 of which came in the first half. Ogarek also led the team with nine rebounds. St. Norbert outrebounded Benedictine 42-32 in the game.
Jordan Carlquist finished with 18 points.
Benedictine (0-6, 0-1 NACC) visits UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.
