The Benedictine University men's basketball team reached the semifinals of the NACC Tournament by logging a 78-72 home win over Illinois Tech on Wednesday. A late first half run broke open a close game and after leading by 18 in the second half Benedictine held off a comeback attempt to grab the win.
Andrew Stokes tallied a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Trevor Montiel knocked down four threes and posted a strong second half to finish with 18.
Marvin Agwomoh added 17. Benedictine held a 46-30 advantage on the glass with 20 offensive rebounds leading to 26 second chance points. For the night, Benedictine shot 41 percent and finished 26-of-37 at the free throw line.
