The Benedictine University baseball team lost for the first time in Florida, suffering an 8-7 defeat at the hands of Buena Vista University. Benedictine did not lead in the game, falling behind 5-0 but tied the game with five runs in the fourth to tie the score.
Cole Wilson hit a three-run homer in the inning and
Peter Turelli added an opposite field two-run double. After Buena Vista scored twice in the fifth Benedictine pulled within a single run twice but could get no closer despite finishing with 13 hits.
Leo Corbett suffered the loss in relief, striking out five in 3.1 innings.
Eddie Wilson finished the game with 3.2 frames.
