The Benedictine University baseball team handed conference leading and 11th ranked Aurora their first conference loss of the season in a wild 15-14 opener but Aurora came back to win the second game 6-3 in a doubleheader split between two conference front-runners on Tuesday.
The first game saw both teams open large advantages behind big innings. Benedictine scored six in the fourth and four in the sixth. Aurora tallied six in the second and five in the seventh. The hosts loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth but could not tie the score. Benedictine posted 16 hits from 10 different players. The top four in the lineup of

Kevin Bushnell and
Brennan Fisher all logged two hits and two RBIs.
Cole Wilson and
Peter Turelli also notched a pair of hits. Bushnell and Fisher homered in the games.
Jackson Bahn tossed 6.2 innings.
Nick Shelton worked 2.1 innings to nab the win.
Benedictine held a 2-1 lead in the second game before Aurora scored five times in the seventh. Benedictine managed just five hits in the second contest.
