The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team fell behind 4-0 in the first quarter and did not recover in dropping a 14-7 decision at Illinois Tech on Tuesday. 
Ben Zimmerman scored twice in the final two minutes of the first to draw Benedictine within 4-2 but the hosts scored the next eight, leading 11-2 at halftime and 12-2 early in the third. Benedictine put together a late flurry in the fourth with 
Will Robinson scoring three straight as the team scored the final four goals but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Benedictine was just 1-of-6 in man-up situations but did post 43 shots and 32 groundballs while winning 17 faceoffs. 
Lance Kopecky picked up nine groundballs while 
Dominick Flores caused three turnovers.
