The Benedictine University baseball team saw their run in the NACC Tournament come to a close with a 6-1 loss in the championship game to Aurora.

For the second consecutive meeting, Aurora scored in the first inning. There was a first inning run in all three meetings between the teams at the conference tournament. Benedictine was able to tie the game in the top of the second.
Cole Wilson led off with a double and scored on back-to-back sacrifice bunts.
Peter Turelli put down the bunt to tie the game. Aurora responded with five runs in the bottom of the second inning and neither team scored again. Benedictine left two runners on base in the fourth, fifth and seventh, stranding eight for the game.
Eddie Wilson suffered the loss on the mound, working 1.2 innings.
Nick Shelton finished out the game by working 6.1 innings. Wilson,
Kevin Bushnell and
Anthony Lenza all notched two hits.
Benedictine finished the year 30-14 after not being selected for the NCAA Tournament despite having played nine different regionally ranked opponents and tallying a record of 6-6 against those foes and posting an SOS of .532 in the final regular season regional rankings. The 2023 season marked the first time the program has recorded 30 victories since 2013.
