The Benedictine University women's volleyball team opened conference play with a hard fought four-set win over visiting Lakeland. Benedictine won the first two sets but needed to battle to take the victory after Lakeland won the third and mounted a big comeback in the fourth.
Olivia McPherson finished with 17 kills as Benedictine hit .198. McPherson also added four aces and 15 digs.
Grace Knutsen amassed 16 kills with
Sam Zurawski putting down 11.
Kiara McPherson totaled 45 assists and added 10 digs while
Courtney Levy paced the defense with 22 digs.
Beneditine (5-3, 1-0 NACC) heads to Elmhurst for a pair of non-conference contests on Saturday.
