The Benedictine University women's soccer team rallied from down two goals in the second half but fell just short in a 2-1 loss at home to visiting Edgewood in conference play on Wednesday night. Edgewood struck rapidly with a goal just over minute into the match and pushed the edge to 2-0 late in the second.
Jocelyn Ybarra scored on a free kick from 40 yards out with just over two minutes left but Benedictine fell short. Edgewood held a 15-6 advantage in shots.
Katherine Prochnow was able to record six saves in goal.
Benedictine (2-6-1, 2-3 NACC) hosts Alverno on Saturday.
