The Benedictine University men's soccer team was able to open the home schedule against another tough opponent, dropping a 4-1 decision to visiting Carthage College on Thursday night. Carthage scored three times in the first half including a very early tally.
Joseph Duarte scored the lone goal for Benedictine in the 61st minute. Carthage held an 18-10 advantage in shots.
Mateo Reyes made four saves in goal.
Benedictine (0-3) will play at Coe on Sunday.
