The Benedictine University men's basketball team ran their win streak to seven by tallying a 68-47 win over visiting MSOE on Wednesday night.
Benedictine scored the first four points of the game but found themselves down seven midway through the first half.
Brett Myre knocked down a three to bring Benedictine within one at 22-21 and moments later
Trevor Montiel gave the team the lead. The squad did not trail the remainder of the contest.
Benedictine has held every team below their season scoring average during the win streak and limited MSOE to just 23.7 percent shooting including 16 percent in the second half. Benedictine finished the game shooting 41 percent and finished +20 on the glass (53-33). The team scored 38 points in the paint and tallied 21 second chance points.
Drew Stokes led the way with 16 points, adding nine rebounds, seven of which were on the offensive end. Montiel logged 12 with seven boards.
Nick Howard recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Cullen Cosme also grabbed nine rebounds with seven coming on the offensive side.
Benedictine (13-7, 10-3 NACC) visits Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon.
