The Benedictine University women's basketball team celebrated six seniors on Saturday afternoon and dropped a tight 63-59 contest with Aurora.
Benedictine led for most of the first half bu Aurora opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run and outscored Benedictine 16-6. Benedictine came back to make it very close late, playing solid defense.
Aurora shot just 35 percent in the contest. Benedictine opened the game 7-of-13 in the first and finished shooting 34.5 percent.
Autumn Rucker came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 12 points.
Sophia Hardy and
Sierra Skack totaled nine apiece off the bench.
Benedictine (8-15, 8-6 NACC) hosts St. Norbert on Wednesday night.
