The Benedictine University women's basketball team finished the regular season with a late comeback at Lakeland to claim a 71-67 victory in the regular season finale.
Lakeland took the lead with a big third quarter and led 65-58 with 4:18 to play.
Autumn Rucker scored seven straight points to tie the game and a free throw from Sophia HArdy put Benedictine ahead in an 8-0 run. Following a Lakeland bucket, Hardy struck with the game-winner at the 49 second mark.
Benedictine, who led by 13 late in the opening quarter, shot 41.5 percent in the game. The team tallied 32 points in the paint and 35 came from the bench.
Three players reached double figures led by
Olympia Kokkines, who finished with a season high 15 off the bench. Rucker notched 11 and Hardy posted 10 in the win.
Benedictine (9-16, 9-7 NACC) will be the seventh seed in the conference tournament and opens play on Wednesday night at St. Norbert.
