Five from Men's Lacrosse Honored

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference released the awards for the 2024 men's lacrosse season and Benedictine University saw five players receive recognition.

Cooper Lillich, Tyler Sarna and Ben Zimmerman were all named Second Team All-NACC. Lillich helped anchor the defense, causing 15 turnovers while collecting 18 groundballs. The 15 caused turnovers were third on the team. Sarna played all 17 games and finished second on the team with 34 goals, adding 10 assists. The 34 goals were 11th in the conference. Sarna scored a goal in 15 of his 17 games played with multiple in 13 contests including a season best four in the conference tournament at Aurora. Rounding out the second team awards was Zimmerman, who set the single season program record for assists with 55, second most in the conference. Zimmerman also added 33 goals to lead the team with 88 points, third most in the conference. The senior scored in 14 contests and notched a season best seven on April 6 against Concordia Chicago. ZImmerman produced an assist in every contest including 14 games with more than one.

Robert Schroeder and Jonathan Zimmerman were named Honorable Mention All-NACC. Schroeder recorded 44 points, a career best, scoring 17 times while adding 27 assists. ZImmerman, who played with his brother, Ben, a Second Team All-NACC choice, was a monster in the faceoff circle, winning over 54 percent of the time while scooping 111 groundballs.

Benedictine finished the year with a record of 6-11, 5-3 in conference play, reaching the NACC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
