After a scoreless 45 minutes the Benedictine University men's soccer team erupted in the second half, scoring five goals to notch a homecoming win over visiting Lakeland 5-2.
Jacob Kotapka opened the scoring less than a minute into the second half, finishing a long thru ball from
Thomas Suchecki.
Roberto Castillo found the back of the net 10 minutes later with his first of two goals. The eruption occurred over the final 15 when the teams combined for five tallies.
Jorge Roman also found the back of the net on two occasions. Both teams totaled 14 shots.
Raul Jasso stopped five shots in goal.
Benedictine (5-3-1, 3-1 NACC) hosts Edgewood on Monday night.
