Following a 42-35 victory over visiting Lakeland to move to 6-1 on the season, the Benedictine University football team picked up a pair of awards.
Brian Pritt was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week at his defensive end position. Pritt recorded seven tackles and a pair of sacks as part of a defensive front that was constantly harassing Lakeland's starting quarterback. Pritt, the program's all-time leader in sacks, has recorded multiple sacks in five contests this year and leads the nation in sacks. 
Jake Diamantos was named as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Diamantos recorded 20 tackles, including 10 solo, during the win. The linebacker also recorded a tackle for loss along with a hurry and a pass breakup. Diamantos ranks second in the conference in tackles per game.
Benedictine (6-1, 4-1 NACC) plays a key conference game at St. Norbert on Saturday afternoon.
