Following a 38-7 victory over Concordia Chicago the Benedictine University football team reeled in a pair of weekly awards from the conference.
Santino Florio was named as the Special Teams Player of the Week. Florio returned a punt for a touchdown in the win and added a long kickoff return to set up another score. The freshman piled up nearly 200 yards of total offense in the win.
Nick Irion was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week. Irion returned an interception for a touchdown in the win and added two tackles. Benedictine used all three phases to streak to the victory.
Benedictine (7-2, 5-2 NACC) wraps the season on Saturday at home against Wisconsin Lutheran.
