The Benedictine University women's basketball team saw the season end in the semifinals of the NACC Tournament with a 52-40 loss at top-seeded St. Norbert.
Benedictine got off to a quick start, leading 10-5 in the first following a layup from
Makenzie Carroll late in the first. Tied at 18 after a slow first half, Benedictine was outscored 15-4 in the third quarter. Benedictine did not record a point for nearly seven minutes in the frame. The hosts led by 11 points after three quarters. THe lead grew to 13 in the fourth, but Benedictine was able to fight within seven on several occasions before St. Norbert answered consistently.
Benedictine shot 30 percent in the game but was just 1-of-9 in the third. St. Norbert held a 40-25 edge on the glass. Carroll was the lone Benedictine player to reach double digits, finishing 5-of-7 from the field for 13 points.
Alexis Schueler finished with seven.
St. Norbert has ended the season for Benedictine in Wisconsin in three consecutive trips to the NACC Tourney.
Benedictine concludes the season at 15-12.
