Budorick Selected as NACC Player of the Week

After batting .632 over five games, Mike Budorick of the Benedictine University baseball team was honored as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.

Budorick finished 12-for-19 at the plate with three homers and 11 RBIs to go along with three doubles and seven runs scored. Budorick also was hit by a pitch twice and walked in addition to swiping a base. The deignated hitter hit safely in all five games and tallied multiple hits in four of the contests as Benedictine finished 4-1.

Benedictine visits Wisconsin Lutheran today for two games.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University junior Mike Budorick (Glenview, Ill.) and Concordia University Wisconsin senior Zach Slome (Schaumburg, Ill.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of April 7-13, 2025, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Pitcher --- Zach Slome, Sr., RHP, Concordia University Wisconsin
Slome, a senior right-handed pitcher, had a dominant performance against Aurora on April 12. He held the Spartans to only two hits over seven innings while striking out five in the victory.

Position Player --- Mike Budorick, Jr., OF, Benedictine University
Budorick, a junior outfielder, hit .632 as the Benedictine offense erupted for four conference wins as part of a 4-1 week overall. He finished 12-of-19 at the plate with three home runs, three doubles, seven runs scored, and 11 runs batted in. Budorick slugged 1.263 with a .682 on-base percentage. He also added a stolen base, drew a walk, was hit by a pair of pitches. Budorick hit safely in every game, recording multiple hits in all four NACC contests. He finished 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and five RBIs in an 18-0 game two win over Dominican. Budorick reached base eight times in nine plate appearances against the Stars, including a home run and a double in each end of the doubleheader.
