The Benedictine University baseball team was swept in a doubleheader at home by MSOE on Saturday afternoon.
MSOE 10, BENEDiCTINE 4
MSOE scored four in the seventh and five in the ninth to rally from a 4-1 hole to win the opener.
Kyle Campbell singled hom the first run in the bottom of the third and
Kevin Butler added an RBI single in the fourth as Benedictine led 2-0. Following a single tally from the visitors in the top of the fifth, Benedictine came back with two in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of an error. The lead held until the fated seventh.
Conner Kendall worked into the seventh and struck out seven.
Mike Budorick was 3-for-4 with an RBI single.
MSOE 11, BENEDICTINE 1
Nic Castrovillari provided the lone highlight with an RBI double in the bottom of the first to tie the game before MSOE scored six in the second to lead 7-1, building on the edge until creating an early end to the contest. Benedictine managed just three hits and committed four errors.
CJ Jensik took the loss on the mound despite striking out six in two innings.
Benedictine (11-12, 2-6 NACC) hosts Dominican on Wednesday.
