The Benedictine University baseball team saw the 2025 season come to an end with an 11-6 defeat to Aurora in the NACC Tournament.
Benedictine never held the lead in the contest. Aurora scored three runs in the first inning.
Brennan Fisher connected on a two-run homer in the third to bring Benedictine within 3-2. Aurora led 5-2 and 7-3 before Benedictine made a strong comeback effort.
Kyle Campbell tallied an RBI single in the seventh and
Nic Castrovillari added a two-run double to draw Benedictine to within 7-6, but Aurora scored four unanswered to finish the win.
Jack Hayden started and suffered the loss. Benedictine managed just five hits, two of which came from Castrovillari.
Benedictine closed the year 26-17.
The team reached the Aurora game by staving off elimination earlier in the day, taking down Concordia Chicago 10-6. Fisher and
George Betevis both homered in the game with Fisher driving in four.
Matt Santarelli and
Kevin Butler both picked up three hits.Â
