The Benedictine University baseball team saw seven players honored by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference including three First Team All-NACC selections.
While Benedictine owns the most prolific offense in the league,
JT Adams was named as a first team choice as a pitcher. Adams toured the regular season at 6-0 and presently owns an ERA of 4.25 over 55 innings of work. Joining Adams with first team honors were
George Betevis and
Brennan Fisher. Betevis is the conference leader in homers and hit his 15th of the season in the conference tournament. The senior is hitting .360 and was the runner-up for the national player of the week for the final week of the season. Betevis owns 17 doubles and 54 RBIs in 42 games. Besides the power numbers, Betevis has been very valuable defensively in center field and owns a team best 12 steals. Fisher has been one of the top hitters not just in the conference but the region. Fisher is currently batting .422 with six homers and 42 RBIs.
Honorable mention recognition went to
Nic Castrovillari,
Kyle Campbell,
Mike Budorick and
Zach Fell, all part of the starting lineup making six of the nine members honored. Castrovillari is second on the team with a .365 average, adding three homers and 43 RBIs, second to Betevis. Campbell started in right all season and is hitting .331 with five longballs and 36 RBIs. Budotick has served as the DH and is hitting .316 with five homers and 34 RBIs. Fell started at short all season and owns a .324 average with 10 steals and 26 RBIs.
Benedictine is continuing play in the conference tournament today.
