Softball Continues to Move Onward

The Benedictine University softball team stayed hot, tallying a 5-2 win over Dominican to pull within a win of the conference title game.

Benedictine scored in four different innings and did not trail after the third inning in the win. Down 1-0, an error allowed the game to become equal in the third. Taylor Oppenhuis posted an RBI single in the fourth to put Benedictine ahead for good. Haley Barnes homered in the sixth and double home a run in the seventh while Victoria Duszynski added an RBI single in the seventh as well.

Mckenzie Johnson went the distance, allowing just one earned run while striking out five to improve to 17-5 on the year. Duszynski finished with three hits while Barnes added a pair.

Benedictine (29-13) will play Concordia Wisconsin at 1:30pm on Saturday for the right to advance to the conference championship.
