The women's basketball team battled on the road but fell to MSOE in the opening round of tournament play on Wednesday night.

THE DETAILS
-MSOE capitalized on early turnovers to open the game on an 8-0 run and held a 20-11 lead after the first quarter
-Benedictine found points in the paint from Megan Duzansky and Alexis Schueler in the second quarter but trailed 31-19 at halftime
-MSOE extended the lead in the third with timely three-pointers and free throws, taking a 51-38 advantage into the fourth
-The Eagles cut the deficit to 16 midway through the final quarter behind baskets from Hailey Bachmann and Catey Carney
-A late three-pointer and steady free-throw shooting allowed MSOE to pull away down the stretch
-Benedictine finished shooting 35.7 percent from the field and received contributions from 10 different players in the scoring column
