Jordan Cardenas was selected as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year as the conference released the postseason awards.
Cardenas leads the conference and sits 10th in the nation in digs per set. The senior is just short of 300 on the season and recorded double-digit digs in 15 contests including a conference high and program record 24 in a win over then #11 UC Santa Cruz.
Cardenas was also one of three individuals to earn First Team All-NACC honors as
Tucker Lambert and
Spencer VanEngen earned recognition. VanEngen became a threat on many different levels, recording the second most digs in the conference while being involved in the service game, the block and the defense. Lambert was fourth in kills with just under 300 entering the weekend.
Chris Radomski and
Jacob Thomas received second team honors. Thomas hit .386 on the season, fifth in the conference. Radomski added another outside threat, amassing 271 kills.
Benedictine (16-10) will play MSOE in the semifinals of the conference tournament
