The Benedictine University baseball team split two games in action on Thursday at the NACC Tournament.

- Benedictine erupted in the first inning of the opener, scoring eight runs to set the tone
- The team recorded four straight hits to open the game and took the lead on a two-run single from

Matt Santarelli singled home a run and
Anthony Mitchell pushed the lead to 5-0 with a two-run single
- 12 men came to the plate in the first inning as
Preston Popovich knocked home two and Tommy Jusi added another RBI
- The lead grew to 15-0 with three in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth
- Benedictine struck early in the second game as well with three first inning tallies

Justin Nonnenmann scorched a two-run double and Santarelli lifted a sacrifice fly
- After MSOE drew within 3-1 in the bottom of the first, Benedictine stretched the lead to three runs again on a Santarelli RBI single in the third
- MSOE would score 10 unanswered runs, all with two outs to nab the win
STAT LEADERS

Nic Castrovillari, Santarelli, Jusi and
Hank Friedrich all produced three hits as Benedictine finished with 23 hits in the first game
- Geake finished with four RBIs while Santarelli plated three

Matthew Purta tossed a complete game in the opener allowing just one earned run
- Popovich, Castrovillari and Mike Budorck notched two hits apiece in the MSOE game
