Benedictine University Athletics

With a combination of enthusiasm and athleticism, the Benedictine Cheerleading team conveys the spirit and pride that goes along with being a Benedictine Eagles fan. In addition to pumping up the crowd, the cheerleading team represents the Benedictine University at community events both as ambassadors for the school and the athletic department.

The cheerleading team works alongside the Athletic Band and Dance Team at school sporting events, including all home Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.

Squad members represent the Benedictine University at various community events both on and off campus.

The Cheer team offers various clinics throughout the year for high school seniors and those interested in preparing for tryouts. The team also attends NCA camp in the summer and competes in the Spring Semester. The team is looking to grow in size and skill, with the hopes of competing at NCA nationals next winter.

Cheer Team Requirements

• Strong commitment and dedication to Benedictine athletics
• Good overall game day presence
• Excellent/Sharp motion technique
• Positive attitude
• Outstanding crowd leading ability
• Prior cheerleading/gymnastics experience
• Availability to attend all regular season requirements, as well as attendance at summer and winter break practices/games/events
