Kevin Sullivan

Sullivan joined the Benedictine coaching staff in 2015-16.

A native of Stevens Point, Wis., Sullivan was selected by the Dodgers in the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft out of Pacelli High School, but opted to attend Carthage College. Sullivan was a four year starter and All-American catcher at Carthage and the CCIW Player of the Year in 2000. He received his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2000.

Sullivan was drafted by the Phillies in 2000 and played for three different affiliates. In 2001, Sullivan turned to the independent ranks, signing with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the Northern League where he was an All-Star and the 2001 Northern League Rookie of the Year. .

The Rockies signed Sullivan in 2001, and Sullivan  played catcher, first base, third base, left field and right field during his tenure, reaching Triple-A. From 2004-08 Sullivan continued his playing career in the minors with White Sox and Cubs along with the Lincoln Saltdogs, Joliet Jackhammers, and St Paul Saints of the American Association were he was named to the 2006 and 2008 American Association All-Star teams.

Sullivan completed his nine-year minor league career in August 2008 with a season-ending stint in the Atlantic League, playing for the Southern Maryland Bluecrabs. Kevin Sullivan was named to the Lincoln Saltdogs All-Decade (2001-2010) Team in 2010. 

In 2008, Sullivan, along with his business partners Tadd Gibson and Mark Dalesandro, opened a baseball and softball training facility in Oswego, Illinois. Elite Sports Performance has been successfully training and preparing athletes for eight years and continues to mold them for future athletic success. Sullivan is the Director of Baseball and Softball Operations. In his time coaching, more than five students have been drafted into professional baseball and over 50 athletes have received college baseball scholarships. Sullivan also served as head coach for Elite Sports Performance and the Northern Illinois Reds college exposure travel teams. Other coaching experience includes a stint at North Central College as a part time assistant coach in 2007.

Kevin currently resides in Joliet, Ill. with his wife, Rachel, and his two daughters, Violet (5), and Scarlett (3).
