Wilson joins the Benedictine staff in 2015 as a defensive line coach. Wilson retired in May following a 35 year career as middle school teacher and high school assistant football coach, most recently at A.A. Stagg HS.
Wilson graduated from Carl Sandburg High School and Eastern Illinois University and played at UNM and Joliet Junior College. Wilson began his coaching career at JJC, continuing as student & graduate assistant at Eastern Illinois University which included the 1978 Division II National Championship.
Credits coaches Cliff Eade (Sandburg), Gerald Yost (JJC), and Darrell Mudra (EIU) as influential mentors. Family includes wife Patti, adult children Chris, Matt and Shannon, grandchildren Emma, Caroline, Olivia and Matthew.
