Balek joined Benedictine in the offseason of 2017, assisting in recruiting for the 2018 newcomers. Balek works with the running backs while also serving as the director of football operations.

Balek spent one season as an assistant at the high school level at Westmont.

Balek had his playing career come to an end due to injury after four years at Lemont High School. Balek was a member of two teams that reached the IHSA Semifinals.
