HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Mendota Township (2008) … John McKenzie was his coach … Three varsity seasons … First team Illinois High School Football Coaches Association all-state lineman on both offense and defense as a senior … First team all-conference lineman both ways as a senior and on defense as a junior … All-star game participant … Earned team’s Joe Rollins Lineman “MVP” award … Also participated in wrestling and track … Honor Roll … D.A.R.E. program member … Participated in Future Farmers of America.

PERSONAL: Son of Stephen and Karen Bulfer … Has three brothers and two sisters, all older … Enjoys working in auto mechanics and electronics in spare time … Did aid work with a Cedar Rapids (Iowa) flood victim family in the spring of 2008 … Both grandfathers served in the U.S. Army … A business major and coaching minor.
