Benedictine University Athletics

Matthew Jones was named Assistant Director of Athletics for NCAA Compliance and Student-Athlete Services in June of 2015.

Jones, who graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education in 2009, is also an assistant on the men's basketball team. Entering his seventh season under head coach Keith Bunkenburg, Jones has coached four conference championship teams.

In 2010 Jones tacked on Rice Center management, gameday management and campus recreation duties. He added on the title of equipment manager the following year and in 2012 he was named Student-Athlete Services Coordinator. Jones then took the lead of NCAA compliance in 2013.

The El, Paso. Ill. native received his Masters of Science in Sports Administration in 2014 with a certificate in non-profit fundraising.

Jones is married to the former Kristin Bonk, who played softball for the Eagles from 2005-2009. The couple resides in Plainfield.
