Button was named as the interim coach prior to the start of the 2019 season and was given the full-time title following the season.

BUTTON'S BENEDICTINE PROFILE
• Matched the program's single season record for wins and set a record for winning percentage in 2019 by finishing with a record of 11-4 in his first season as head coach
• The four losses in 2019 were the
fewest in program history
• 2019 team set single game (38) and single season (273) records for goals while averaging over 18 goals per game
• 2019 team also set a then single game national record with 98 groundballs on March 30 while amassing the third most single game goals (38) and points (63) in NCAA Division III history
• Team was off to a 5-1 start in 2020 before Covid-19 canceled the season
• Seven players were honored by the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) with all-conference recognition in 2019 including two first team nods
• Nine players were named to the MLC All-Academic Team in 2019
• Two players received a weekly award from the MLC in 2019 and one in 2020
• As offensive coordinator in 2018 the team averaged over 12 goals per game
• Worked with the MLC Offensive Player of the Year (Corbin Gett) in 2018

• Won the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship as a player at LeMoyne College
• Ranks in the Top-10 at LeMoyne in career goals
• Member of two Northeast-10 conference champion teams
• Helped coach Mount Ida to the 2017 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championship game
• Directed Fairport HS to Section V title and New York State Final Four in 2014
• Won the Section V title and finished as the state runner-up as a player in 2010
