Cleary’s coaching experience comes from his time with True Lacrosse from 2015-2020 and Evanston Youth Lacrosse from 2023 to 2024 as well as helping with the Kenosha Raptors during his tenure at Carthage College.
Prior to Benedictine, Cleary grew up playing lacrosse at New Trier High School where he won a state championship in 2015 and was the 2016 runner up. Upon graduation Cleary continued to play lacrosse for Carthage College where he was a faceoff specialist and also played transition midfield. He finished his career at Carthage with a conference title and an appearance in the NCAA tournament as well as setting a school record for most faceoffs won in a single game.
He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Carthage College in 2020 and was a member of the CCIW All-Academic team. Cleary is a native of Winnetka.
