Tyler Yanez enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Benedictine men's volleyball program.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Yanez was a volunteer assistant coach with the Omaha volleyball program in 2016.
Yanez spent the 2015-16 season as a student assistant with the men's and women's volleyball teams at his alma mater, Mount Olive. He assisted with coaching, supervision and organization of the Trojans' nationally-competitive programs, including skill development with student-athletes.Â
Prior to that, Yanez gained coaching experience with the Santa Monica Beach Club (2012-13), the Burroughs High School varsity girls' program (2012) and at the Triangle Volleyball Clinic.
As a player, Yanez began his collegiate career with two seasons at Pierce Community College, earning first-team all-conference honors in 2013. He then transferred to Mount Olive, lettering two years and picking up second-team all-conference recognition and all-academic plaudits from Conference Carolinas in 2015.Â
Yanez graduated with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Mount Olive in May 2016.
